Chef Lance Roll has been professionally cooking for 25 years. His career started in 1988 when he joined the team with Chef Mark Strausman at Sapore Di Mare in New York. He spent 2.5 years there learning classical European cooking principals and Tuscan Cuisine. His next venture was moving to California in 1990 where he worked for 2 years under Chef Martin Woeslie at Mille Fleurs in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Here he learned the fine art of French Cooking. In 1993 he took his first Executive Chef title at Jerry’s Red Horse Market A gourmet shop in East Hampton, New York with a produce market offsite catering, butchering shop gourmet deli and charcuterie counter.
Upon returning to California in 1994, Chef Lance owned and operated “Rolls Choice Personal Chef Service” and then became the Executive Chef at Calvery Chapel Conference Center in Murrieta Hot Springs.
Chef Lance became an ACF Certified Executive Chef (CEC) in 2005 at The American Culinary Federation. He was also a Professional Chef Instructor at San Diego Culinary Institute (SDCI) during 2003 to 2007, where he was dubbed “The Flavor Chef”. His cooking was transformed upon meeting Paul Check in 2006 and being introduced to The Weston A Price Foundation.
Currently Chef Lance Roll is the sole owner and President of The Flavor Chef Inc. The Flavor Chef ® was founded in 2007. Chef Lance founded his company and his farm to table food philosophy using local and organic sustainable food products. Although the company was originally created under the name “The Aloha Bruddahs”, in 2008 the name officially changed to “The Flavor Chef ®” (TFC) and has continued to use the same principals, philosophy and ethics of cooking. In January of 2014, Chef Lance incorporated the business now known as The Flavor Chef Inc.
With Chef Lance’s intuitive abilities together with his diverse culinary career he creates healthy imaginative cuisine. By using organic ingredients, locally grown organic produce, free range humanely raised meats and poultry, and his incredible Genuine Organic Chicken Broth, The Flavor Chef is able to bring extremely well balanced nutrient dense food to your table.
When not cooking, Chef Lance Roll resides in Carlsbad Ca. with his wife of 5 years Suzanna and keeps busy with his 4 year old son Dylan.

The Structure of The Flavor Chef:
The Flavor Chef ® has 2 major revenue streams. Catering Services as well as Food Product Production. Both of these play a significant part in the overall success of the company and has helped build the proud reputation.
The Flavor Chef ® began primarily as a Catering Company and continues to have a loyal following with much of its growth generated from referrals. Along with referrals as a main source of “marketing”, in 2013 TFC Catering starting utilizing social media and on line advertising. Chef Lance is very proud that the company has achieved so many five-star reviews on YELP and a Facebook page with thousands of likes.
Food Production within The Flavor Chef began with its signature organic product “Genuine Chicken Bone Broth”. Product development of the Chicken Bone broth began in 2007 with the introduction and influence of The CHEK Institute and the Weston A. Price Foundation. During the period of 2007- 2010, Bone Broth was provided only to TFC clients. In 2011, distribution of the Bone Broth began. It was on a very small scale to a few small Wellness and Nutrition companies who believed in the product and its concept. In order to sell our product to the public, The Flavor Chef became State Certified (CDPH) in 2012. Currently, Genuine Chicken Bone Broth has distribution in San Diego Counties to well known natural food stores with the anticipation of adding more local SD and Orange County stores in 2015.
In January of 2013, The Flavor Chef launched an e-commerce store thebrothery.com. The Brothery® distributes Genuine Chicken Bone Broth nationwide and ships across the USA weekly. Chef Lance is considered by many to be an expert in the industry and his production. He has been sought after for multiple interviews on internet pod casts, wellness summits, and national blog talks such as The Underground Wellness Show with Sean Croxton and with Katie, The Wellness Mama. Chef Lance has also had multiple interviews and demonstrations on local news channels such as Fox News In The Morning and most recently San Diego Living. Chef Lance is proud to be a published author in multiple local publications such as The CHEK Report and SIA magazine. In 1999 he also published a Cookbook with 10,000 copies in print.
